ALCESTER is being proclaimed as Queen of the Jubilee towns.
Letters of praise and congratulations are flooding into the town from all over the country as the brightly coloured streets and streets remain the envy of the region.
News of Alcester's jubilee splendour reached London where the Sunday Times sent a reporter to cover the town's celebrations and now councillors have asked for permission to borrow some of the town's flags and bunting for the Queen's visit to the town in July.
And while other towns and cities regarded the jubilee celebrations as being a giant step towards rekindling community spirit, Alcester folk proved yet again that their sense of bonhomie is so strong they can succeed in anything they set their minds to.
