A ROBBER inflicted a head wound on a lone motorist while he was attending to his vehicle on the hard shoulder of a motorway.
The victim was so dazed by the attack he could not remember if he was on the M5 or M50 when it happened.
Head bleeding
But he came round to find his head bleeding and that cash and a mobile phone had been stolen from his vehicle.
The man received treatment for the wound to his head, which required stitches.
Police are appealing for help from other motorists who were travelling along the M5 or M50 in Herefordshire, Worcestershire or Gloucestershire on Monday afternoon.
They would like to hear from anyone who saw a cream, long-wheelbase Land Rover, with the words "O C Summers" painted in red on the side.
If anyone saw the vehicle parked on the hard shoulder, it could help to identify the location of the robbery.
Anyone with information should call PC John Jones, at Hereford Police Station, on 01432 276422 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
