THE MP for Leominster, Bill Wiggin, has opened up a debate about what to do with the former Ledbury cottage hospital.
"It is my belief that whatever is ultimately decided for this site, it should benefit the community of Ledbury," said Mr Wiggin in a letter to the chief executive of Herefordshire Council.
"I have received a growing number of letters making suitable suggestions for the future use of the site.
"These suggestions include a pre-school playgroup, an art gallery, an internet caf and a hostel - all of which are exciting and helpful ideas.
"I hope the council will give full consideration to the suggestions coming from the people who actually live in and around Ledbury.
"The most important factor in this decision is try and ensure that whatever is put on the site must be for the benefit of the people of Ledbury.
"I would like to thank those people who have taken time to think about this important issue."
