PARISH COUNCIL: Burial Ground - Landscaping: Tenders will be invited shortly to lay paving between the existing area and the extension.
Stoneford Barn: WCC is carrying our searches to establish ownership of land which has been incorporated within the fenced area.
Planning - Applications: Mr and Mrs Watson, 39, Main Street - Alteration for workshop/store space. Installation of first floor space between two halves of building behind barn door, with rear floor windows and wall. Plus listed building consent.
Mr D Lloyd-Barker, 18, Station Road - Double fronted garage with storage/utility space above - amended application.
Mr L Johnson, The Close, Main Street - Extension to kitchen and new porch. Plus listed building consent.
Approval: Evesham Vale Growers, Blackminster - Improved site access and traffic flow system.
Ms P Scrivener, Upper End Court - Conservatory to the rear.
Bretforton First School - New library extension and conversion of staff room.
Amenity Skips: There are considerable problems with the skip service. An increase in trade and hazardous waste left in and around the skips is resulting in considerable costs to deal with their safe disposal. This is the responsibility of the parish council concerned. Following discussion it has been decided not to have any more skips in the parish. Instead a request would be made for the provision of a roadside service which would be more manageable, responsibility would be with the householder.
Potholes: Were reported in Main Street from Weston Road/New Street junction to the Cross, two drain covers are now insecure. Weston Road beyond S bend.
Road Markings - Fir Tree Corner: Have not been completed. Road from junction with B4035 to beyond the Bretforton boundary is in need of repair.
Inspection Cover - Station Road: Cover is broken, previously reported in June 2001.
Drains - Main Street: A further request will be made for drains to be cleared because recent heavy rain had caused problems.
Timetable - New Street: This has also been damaged and request for repair would be made.
Garden Club: Has provided and planted a tub which is to the right of the school entrance opposite the church.
Dog Fouling: Complaints have been received from residents in Station Road. There is also a problem on the tarmac path leading to the burial ground, this is particularly distressing for mourners likely to walk through the mess.
Garden Waste: Is being dumped on verges and in ditches in the village which is causing problems to the mowing contractor. Residents are asked to dispose of their waste responsibly.
The next meeting will be held on Monday, July 8, in the Memorial Hall, starting with the open forum at 7.15pm.
