ROSE SHOW: Welcoming members and visitors to Inkberrow and District Horticultural Society's Rose Show which was held at the village hall on June 22, chairman Tom Hodgkinson remarked that although exhibits were down slightly on last year, members had still managed to produce an excellent display. This was despite a very dull May and heavy rain the previous evening. He thanked all those involved in setting up the show and manning the plant stall, refreshments and raffle. Show judge was Mr Dennis Pugh from Solihull.

The chairman then had much pleasure in announcing the name of the exhibitor who had gained the most points in the show, being his wife, Elaine Hodgkinson.

The Mary Hewlett Challenge Cup for most points gained in the rose classes was won by Mr Fred Hunt. Mrs Pat Atkin and Mrs Col Shaw came second and third in both sections.
