CYCLING: Wyre Forest Cycle Racing Club teenager Liam Preece blitzed the opposition to take a fine win in the BSCA stage race at Curborough, Lichfield.
Preece, 15, used his skills to good effect for first place in the prologue time trial before the first road stage.
He then constantly attacked the opposition until midway through the race when he went clear on his own and finished one minute 25 seconds ahead of the pack.
Preece took it easier on stage two, managing a superb second among the bunch.
But he saved his best until last by lapping half the riders in the third stage and ending up one minute ahead of everyone.
The club played host to some of the country's best in the League of Veteran Racing Cyclists National Road Race Championships on Saturday.
There were two 90km races, dealing for ages of 50 to 55 and 55 to 60.
Multi-national and world champion Ian Hallam won the first event, while former international Pete Matthews took the sprint finish in the second.
