MAGISTRATES have jailed a young father for six months after he admitted four offences of driving while banned and without insurance.
Craig Pitt, 23, of Winterfold Close, Kidderminster, was obsessed with motor vehicles and had tried to support his family by doing up old cars, the Kidderminster court was told.
He had been banned for three years for insurance offences.
Pitt admitted the driving offences and also pleaded guilty to stealing a Playstation game from Tesco and having a truncheon as an offensive weapon.
He was banned from driving for another three years.
Pitt had been dependent on heroin at the time of the offences, said his solicitor John Rogers, but was now free of drugs.
