MOST pensioners will be aware that the concessionary bus fare has been increased (by a convenient 5p) and I wonder whether there is anybody who can claim to have seen any improvement in the service since the last increase.
It has been suggested that a less ambitious time-table, which offered some hope of a bus turning up when due, would not meet the council's requirements.
I would like to ask how many councillors are regular users of the bus service?
In closing may I commend those bus drivers who, where possible, pull into the kerb and let passengers alight without making a descent to the gutter as they get off.
Their reward will be in heaven, and not in their pay packet, but one can only wish that there were more of them.
