COLWALL are through to the last 32 of the National Village Knockout cricket competition after a resounding 132-run victory over Brockhampton.
After winning the toss and batting first, Dave Powell set the early tempo with some fine boundaries. Fellow opener Tom Wolfendale went early on, however, after misjudging a hook shot.
Powell and Richard Williams then added 62 for the second wicket with the latter bringing up a 53-ball half-century to push the Colwall assault onto 84 off the opening 20 overs.
His 11 boundaries in an excellent top score of 62 allowed the visitors to surge on in the closing before both he and Powell (30) fell to Jennings' medium pace. Colwall eventually finished on 252-8 from their 40 overs.
Brockhampton were always struggling following Jordan Kontarines' early double strike. Dave Sutton took 4-17 as Brockhampton were skittled for just 120. Colwall now play Isham at home in the next round on July 7.
n Colwall failed to take their cup form into their league campaign as they went down by 66 runs to Frocester.
