An extra meeting was held this month, as members celebrated the Queen's Golden Jubilee with a strawberry and cream tea at Jenny Vanderhook's home on June 6.
Sandra Thomas was the guest speaker at the regular meeting in the parish hall, her subject being Colour and Paint Effects for the Home.
She showed colour charts and how to use them, and had samples of different paint effects obtained through simple methods such as sponging, rag-rolling, graining and stencilling.
Two members tried their skill at sponging.
Sandra then judged the competition for A Craft Item for the Home, won by Winnie Edwards' lace table mat.
Ethel Downes was the winner of the Flower of the Month competition, with Jenny Vanderhook second and Norma Bratt third.
The next meeting is on July 9, when there will be a demonstration of flower-arranging.
