A special jubilee evening was held on June 10, when Margaret Mills reported on the intermediate meeting at Brighton, where tribute was paid to the Queen Mother.
The speakers included Norman Willis, famous for his needlework, and Jenny Murray spoke about women's place in society today.
The resolutions, for more Government help with abattoirs, and more restrictions on imported food, were carried.
Muriel Owen reported on the spring Food, Flowers and Craft Show at Perdiswell, when Mr Wright demonstrated bread-making, and Katherine Care told tales from the first Elizabethan era.
The June guest was Paul Maguire, talking about his time as a Butlin's "Redcoat", when he had to be a dancer, musician, teacher, entertainer, and sports organiser. He worked with Des O'Connor, Frank Carson, Dave Allen and Reg Dixon.
The home-made crown competition was won by Helen Johnstone, with Stella Smith second and Mrs Mills third.
There is a members' evening on Monday.
