LEON Botha took his run aggregate for the summer to a staggering 1135 after blasting another 195 last weekend.

The swashbuckling Spri-ngbok blasted 94 not out in Saturday's Worcestershire County League win at Netherton and then hit an unbeaten 101 the next day as Pershore easily overcame Evesham in the Sun-day Clubs League.

Sunday's ton was Botha's fifth of the season and it came off a sparkling 77 balls with his second fifth taking just 23.

Evesham elected to bat and Barry Clements was left to regret that decision as Botha's fellow countryman, David Senegal, ripped into the visitors' top order as he picked up the first five wickets at a personal cost of 37 runs.

Clements and Cutler staged a fightback but Sen-egal's return brought him a sixth wicket and left Eve-sham 1309 all out and at Botha's mercy.

Liam Ridings was the home side's solitary scalp as Botha smashed 15 4s and three 6s to lead his side to a nine-wicket win after a stand of 98 with Paul Boz-ward.

After the previous week's embarrassment, Pershore were looking for a swift return to winning ways at Netherton and Botha's all-round talents ensured a five-wicket win.

Botha shone with the ball taking 3-80 from 17 overs, while Martin Johnson's 3-40 from 18 immaculate overs restricted the hosts to 200-8.

Netherton made early use of the new ball as Pershore slumped to 43-3 but Botha, aided by Lee Wilks and skipper Trevor Ridings (43), led a positive respo-nse.

There were three overs to spare as the visitors mar-ched to victory with dest-royer in chief Botha again in commanding form and showing complete concentration in an innings that contained a dozen boundaries and a six to finish.

Botha's efforts lifted his league tally of runs to 589 at an average of 84.14 and, with 12 matches still to play, looks certain to break the league record of 804.

The second team won by seven wickets on Saturday to register a fourth league win - one more than during the whole of last season!

An unbeaten 70 from Lea Hawkes and 42 not out from Steve Meers hurried Pershore to victory after fine bowling from Tom Bales (4-23), Graeme Rus-hin (3-34) and Alex Longhi (3-22) had skittled Nether-ton for 147.
