AN ENCOURAGING display failed to lift Chaddesley Corbett as their non-winning streak in Worcestershire Saturday League Division One was extended to five games.
They lost by five wickets at league leaders Old Elizabethans and are now down in fifth after once being serious title challengers.
Chaddesley's 209-9 included an 83-partnership between Kevin Truswell (56) and George Baylis (36).
Matt Boden (47) and Mark Edward (28) earlier put together 74 runs to keep the score ticking along.
Old Elizabethans also had problems getting going but Chaddesley again dropped crucial catches, failing good bowling displays from Paul Connolly (1-64) and Tom Boden (1-37).
A cut to the boundary in the final over decided the match in the Worcester side's favour.
Chaddesley 209-9, Old Elizabethans 212-5.
Chaddesley gained revenge over Swindon for a high-scoring defeat inflicted four years ago by blasting their way to an 82-run victory in Worcestershire Sunday League.
Chaddesley amassed 374-6 in 45 overs with Edward hitting a 49-ball century and M Boden adding 109. Ian Chambers was unbeaten on 89 not out.
Ex-Chaddesley man Simon Perkins hit 106 in reply.

Third-placed Chaddesley seconds beat Old Elizabethans by three wickets in the Worcestershire Saturday League with Rob Stephens hitting 72 and Rob Teague 61 runs.
Old Elizabethans 238-9, Chaddesley 2nds 239-7.
But they were beaten by four wickets in their Sunday League encounter with Swindon.
Chaddesley 2nds 175-9, Swindon 177-6.
Chaddesley thirds slipped to a low-scoring defeat at Netherton in the Saturday League Single League.
Chaddesley 3rds 102, Netherton 103-7.
