RAMPANT Cookley followed up an excellent display against Stourport with an emphatic win at second-placed Feckenham in Worcestershire Saturday League Division Two.

Cookley declared at 213-6 due largely to another fine knock from Paul Harris (80) who has been rejuvenated since buying a new bat.

All the batsmen contributed with the exception of New Zealander John Blakeley who was involved in a kamikaze run out.

Feckenham initially responded well with 70-1 of the first 12 overs and Adam Sellick was particularly unlucky with two wickets ruled out for no-balls.

But Blakeley (6-31) entered the fray and quickly made up for his run-out, destroying the home side with a spell of pace and skill.

Cookley 213-6, Feckenham 161.

A weakened seconds suffered an expected defeat at Lea Lane against league leaders Feckenham.

With one player still in Japan watching the World Cup and a bowling attack weakened by injury and domestic duties, Cookley were up against it from the start.

Their 191-7 was never enough although it did highlight the potential of 16-year-old Matt Goode who scored an excellent undefeated 64.

Goode, son of seconds captain Martin, was helped by Marcus Jones (37) and Simon Anderson (19 not out) on an excellent wicket.

Feckenham knocked off the runs with ease for the loss of three wickets as Ian Morgan dominated proceedings with a fine unbeaten century.

Cookley 2nds 191-7, Feckenham 192-3.
