THROUGH your newspapers may I congratulate Pershore Operatic and Dramatic Society (PODS) for a first class production of Oliver at The Swan Theatre, Worcester from Tuesday June 11 until Saturday June 15, 2002. Having had a packed audience at each performance speaks for itself.
From the youngest to the most senior each one performed with great skill and were ideally suited to their parts. The speed by which the scenery was changed was most commendable.
I'm sure their director Maxine Sherwood must have felt a great feeling of pride. Having followed PODS since they were formed over ten years ago and also being a past president I felt a great feeling of pride and admiration.
They will be assured of talent for the future when Pershore will have it's own theatre for the arts and PODS will be the resident company. I feel it appropriate to use this quotation "From a little acorn an oak tree will grow."
CLLR MRS BETTY HUGHES, MBE, Pershore.
