CORSE and Staunton demolished Eastnor in the final of West Malvern Cricket Club's annual U13 six-a-side tournament last Sunday.
They lifted the A J Scott Cup after bowling Eastnor out for just 18 in the five over game. The runners up had some consolation though, as Adam Varley won a new Crusader bat after being named best player in the tournament.
Champagne moment went to Corse wicket keeper Ben Spilsbury's diving one-handed catch behind the stumps.
The sun shone on an exciting day's cricket at Mathon Court as U13 sides from West Malvern, Eastnor, Apperley, Corse and Staunton, Canon Frome and Wood-peckers competed for the trophy.
All the teams distinguished themselves with fine performances throughout the day but some individual efforts proved outstanding. Andrew Lloyd of Canon Frome won best bowler; Adam Nichols won best catch after taking two catches in a row for Woodpeckers; Edmund Bowe, also of Woodpeckers, won best batsmen.
West Malvern chairman, Bob Blackbourn, thanked players, helpers and sponsors Beswick Paper, for the continued success of the six-a-side as it enters its second decade of existence.
The Corse and Staunton U13s were Jack Pugh, Ben Spilsbury, Williams Wellon, Josh Dudfield, Austin Garlick, Tom Powell, Tom Rickard and Andrew Bubb.
