WORCESTER Nomads friendly against Broadway proved something of a run feast.
WORCESTER NOMADS v BROADWAY
There was 650 runs scored in 80 overs, three centuries and a 98, including a fine innings by 16-year-old Malvern College student Blake Raymond completing his maiden century for Nomads, finishing unbeaten on 119.
Malcolm Jones continued his form from the previous day as he also completed his century, making 122. The two put on 244 runs for the fourth wicket in only 25 overs, a really stunning reply to an almost unassailable total amassed by Broadway.
Chris Close with 100 and Broadway's Pakistani professional Ashraf, with 98, were the main beneficiaries of the fact Nomads fielded with only 10 men.
Darren Lakin in particular stuck to the task in hand, plugging away for the full 20 overs up the slope to keep the visitors in check. After a number of close shaves he was rewarded with 3-134 which didn't do justice to a sterling show.
