THE Green played host to Fladbury and were looking for a victory after two league defeats.
BARNARDS GREEN III v FLADBURY II
Skipper Jones won the toss and put Fladbury into bat. Openers Sudlow (20) and Wickerson (12) played aggressively before J Longmore (1-27) bowled Wickerson off his pads. Tyler (1-33) bowled a good line and was unlucky not to get more wickets. The introduction of P Knapper, playing his second game of senior cricket, did the job. Knapper bowling his dangerous off spin ripped through the Fladbury batting order.
Knapper finished with figures of 6-42 off 16 overs and was well supported by P Harris (1-7).
Fladbury set Green 150 to win.
The Green openers got off to a solid start with Jones (33) and Rogers (20) punishing anything short and wide to the boundary, before Rogers was caught and bowled. Jones soon followed with the score on 71 with a needless run out. Middleton (36) and Birch (21) got the Green closer to the total before they were both dismissed.
It was left to L Paddock (0no) and reliable J Longmore (8no) to see the Green home with 20 overs to spare.
Green gaining a good 20 points.
