THIS letter is to add my small part by way of encouragement to you in your mounting campaign to get the issue of the future of Malvern Theatres at least out into the open.

My wife and I have been theatre-goers for many years and the amenities of the theatre complex was one of the determining factors in our move from Abberley some months ago, rather than to some other town.

The management of the theatres, led by Nic Lloyd, has been at a high level of expertise and success and the English Symphony Orchestra, under William Boughton, is widely recognised for its outstanding stature. The cinema and the restaurant are well attended.

The number of letters and reports in your paper during the last few months, since the news broke of the possible council plans for change, should have alerted councillors to the very serious nature of the issues involved.

What we all need now is an open and honest exposition of the problems the council may think exist, so the public can take an informed view and lend weight to the discussion of all the alternatives which may be presented.
