A FAMILY connection is to form the basis of a high-class concert organised by Upton Arts Music Group.
Sheila Quine will be direc-ting the Julian Singers, a group she founded nearly a decade ago with her son, Richard, featured as solo baritone.
Mr Quine studied music at Cambridge before joining the Royal College of Music as a tenor. He spent a year touring with an operatic group.
They will be accompanied by Paul Turner, another graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, where he won the Queen's Comm-endation for Excellence and the Peter Pears Accom-paniment Prize and who has broadcast on Radio Three and Classic FM.
The Julian Singers is a small, mixed choir, which specialises in performing unaccompanied songs from ancient to modern, sacred to secular, serious to light-hearted.
The concert is in Upton's Memorial Hall in Old Street at 7.30pm on Sat-urday, July 6. Tickets are available on 01684 592310 priced £4 members, £4.50 non-members and £1 students and children. Prices include light refreshments.
