The Luberon Garden by Alex Dingwall-Main (Ebury Press £6.99)
This gardening book is different. There are no lavish diagrams or glossy photographs, just a few drawings.
The subject is a neglected, but formerly charming garden in Provence. Now, before you decide you have heard enough about the wonderful locals, weather, wine, and ambience, let me tell you this is different.
Alex Dingwall-Main is a true gardener, he has made it his livelihood, and he knows his plants - in England. In Provence it's a steep learning curve.
How Alex overcomes the difficulties, with the distraction of his son Theo, the snow, rain, sun and countless other problems this book is a delight. A treat from a man who loves to share his passion.
Annie Dendy.
