Further road improvements are to be carried out in West Malvern, this time between the Westminster Hotel and Dr Finley's residence. The price of the land and the estimated cost of the work are put down at £500 by the surveyor and at a special meeting of the council on Friday last it was decided to apply to the Local Government Board for power to borrow this sum. The expenditure is a necessary one, the highway at the spot mentioned being exceedingly narrow. Malvern Gazette, June 27, 1902.

It was soon after midday on Tuesday, market day in Ledbury, when the streets were thronged with country people, and many of the shop keepers were as busy as they could be clearing their stocks of the many kinds of Coronation requisites, that the first item of the said news was received in a telegram to our office, in the following words, "Coronation postponed. Midsummer Eve and Midsummer Day were this week celebrated in Malvern by several picturesque and original ceremonies - this reviving the once-prevalent custom of greeting this season of the year with revels and pageantry. A Midsummer Eve treasure hunt was enjoyed by 138 girls from Lawnside. The same evening, Madresfield Court was the setting for revels by members of the Piers Plowman club. The growing popularity of motorcycling in Ledbury and district was manifested last week, when a party of enthusiasts assembled at the Plough Hotel and founded the Ledbury Cobras Motor Cycle and Light Car Club. The headquarters of the club will be at Number 7, Inn, High Street. Ledbury Reporter, July 4, 1952.

The battle over the Department of the Environment's scheme for greatly increased parking restrictions on the main A449 road through Malvern is now reaching its decisive stage. When the new parking restrictions were first proposed in March/April last year, there was widespread and fierce objection throughout Malvern. Malvern Gazette, June 30, 1977.

Threats of disruptive action by angry bus drivers who can find nowhere to park their vehicles in Ledbury while they take statutory breaks, have been temporarily averted through co-operation with the local police. Problems arose when recent revisions of the bus timetables resulted in drivers being scheduled to take a break in Ledbury. They said they spent most of their breaks looking for places to park.
