FORMER British Olympic swimmer Sharron Davies has taken the plunge to help promote a major clean-up in Worcester.
She joined forces with Councillor Derek Prodger to launch the world's first motorised dustbin in Angel Place, yesterday.
The giant bin is more than three metres high and forms a major part of the Rethink Rubbish campaign which aims to encourage people to look at new ways of dealing with what they throw away.
A host of celebrities have backed the national initiative including TV impressionist Alistair McGowan.
It is the first waste campaign to have united the city's major retailers including Boots, Sainsbury's and Tesco and is backed by the British Retail Consortium.
