A DRUNKEN play-fight ended with a window being smashed outside an Evesham flat.
Worcester magistrates heard that Ashley Davis did not remember the incident when quizzed by police after his arrest.
But the 19-year-old admitted that he could be responsible for the 6ft by 8ft window, smashed between Friday, May 3 and Monday 6.
Davis originally told workers at Evesham and Pershore Housing Association, which owns the window near a property he was occupying, that he had accidentally fallen against it.
But on Wednesday, May 15, a nearby resident called staff at the association to report another smashed window.
"A resident said that Mr Davis was drunk and had smashed another window," said Abi Nixon, prosecuting.
David Battaliou, defending, said that Davis, who admitted two charges of criminal damage and one of failing to surrender to bail, had been play-fighting when the first window was smashed.
"The evidence is that he was play-fighting on the landing and that he fell back," said Mr Battaliou.
Magistrates heard that Davis, from Honeysuckle Close, Evesham, had a history of alcohol abuse, which he has now conquered.
He was given a 12-month conditional discharge, fined £20 for failing to surrender to bail and ordered to pay £40 costs.
