A TALENTED Worcestershire teenager could become a world champion when she flies to Missouri next year.
Zoe Barratt will be showing off her singing and dancing skills in the US as a member of the Youth Show Choir of London.
The 16-year-old, of Northwick Close, Fernhill Heath, will be taking part in the Show Choir Cup 2003, competing against choirs from around the world.
The choirs sing and perform songs from musicals, with the winning entrants being named world champions.
Zoe only joined the choir two months ago, and travels to London every Saturday for rehearsals. The Worcester Technology College student is now preparing for her biggest challenge since starting to sing at the age of nine.
The choir will be representing the UK at the competition, which takes place between April 3 and April 8 next year.
"It's a big commitment," said Zoe's mum, Alison. "She has to go to London every Saturday, which is very expensive for us!"
Zoe now faces a race against time to raise the money needed for the trip to the US.
The show choir is looking to raise £30,000 towards the overall cost of the journey. The fund-raising will start with a 12-hour singathon on Sunday, July 14. To sponsor Zoe call Alison Barratt on 01905 452162.
