RESIDENTS who want to help the town's elderly folk get out and about are urged to attend a summer fair this Saturday.

The event at Housman Court Residential Home, in School Drive, forms part of a £15,000 fundraising campaign to buy a new mini bus.

Already there is £1,000 in the kitty for the vehicle which would benefit residents at Housman Court and St John's Nursing Home, in Market Street.

The fete will run from 2pm to 4pm, admission is free and there are dozens of attractions including face painting, stalls, displays by the emergency services, games and refreshments.
