PROPOSALS to build 53 properties and a discount foodstore on the former Co-op site in Newtown Road will be discussed by Worcester city councillors.
Members of the planning committee will be studying the plans by Lidl and Bloor Homes during their meeting tomorrow.
The application returns to the council following a deferral in May to allow amendments to the layouts of the store and for the developer to investigate the provision of open space.
Bloor Homes is seeking permission to build 25 flats and 28 houses.
Most of the properties will be two storeys, but some will be three storeys with a block of flats rising up to four storeys.
Councillors will be told the nearest open space to the development is at Dove Close, which includes the meadows below Ronkswood Hill Farm a third of a mile away.
The nearest equipped play areas are at Rose Avenue and Medway Road which are more than half-a-mile away.
Lidl has returned with amended plans to straighten out a double bend which will improve access to its proposed store.
Officers are recommending approval.
