A YOUNG Worcester choir had a right royal experience when they performed in front of the Queen as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations.
The Choristers of Worcester Cathedral sang two songs in front of the Queen at Birmingham's Symphony Hall last night.
An estimated 2,500 watched the variety concert, which included classical music, gospel singing and ethnic dancing.
The 17 boys from the Worcester choir had half an hour to rehearse at the venue before singing in the concert.
"There were some fantastic performances," said Adrian Lucas, master of the choristers.
"The choristers performed the National Anthem and William Walton's Coronation Te Deum with the City of Birmingham Choir and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra."
Mr Lucas said although the boys, aged between eight to 13 did not meet the Queen they could see her in the audience.
