REDDITCH superbikes team Legs 11 have been forced to withdraw from the Knockhill round of the Superstocks series because both riders are hospitalised.

But if lead rider Kelvin Reilly can recover in time, he can boost the profile of the fledgling team after winning a wild card invitation to the World Round of the Superstocks series at Brands Hatch.

After competing in the European round earlier in the season, Reilly has another chance to impress in an even higher profile meeting on July 26.

But he faces a fitness battle to ride in front of an estimated 80,000-90,000 crowd.

Reilly suffered extensive damage to his hands after coming off his bike at 100mph at Rockingham in the last round of the domestic series.

The Wimbledon-based rider skinned his left hand and severed tendons in his right after coming off his machine on a straight.

He was set to have his stitches out today (Wednesday) and team manager Dave Worthington is hoping he will be fit for the World Championship race.

Team mate Rhys Boyd was also set to go under the knife for a back operation today.

The injury has troubled him for some time and he decided weeks ago to miss the trip to Scotland in order to return for the next domestic round at Thruxton next month.

Redditch rival Andy Tinsley says he is just hoping to stay on the bike on one of his least favourite circuits.

The Astwood Bank ace has suffered a broken hand, a cracked arm and skinned his elbow to the bone on previous visits.

And after missing the meeting last year he has no up to date settings for his bogey circuit.
