HEADLESS Cross ace Stefan Hodgetts is chasing a Formula 1 dream at Silverstone at the weekend.
The talented youngster has won a drive in the Formula 3 race being held immediately before the British Grand Prix on Sunday.
A frustrating season has seen Hodgetts hamstrung by a lack of sponsors but he has been offered a drive in a Class A car with the Motaworld team and is hoping to catch the eye of watching Formula 1 bosses.
Hodgetts was offered the drive after meeting team boss Alan Waite at a test at Silverstone and competed in the latest round of the Formula 3 series at Brands at the weekend to get used to the more powerful machine after starting the season in Team Park's Class B car.
Hodgetts qualified 15th and held his position, seven tenths of a second behind the leader in the first race.
After a problem in qualifying for the second race he started 24th before climbing to 12th.
But a problem with the rear diffuser, which keeps the car's rear end on the ground, meant he finished 15th again.
The young ace has only been offered the weekend's showpiece race but is hoping to impress enough to complete the F3 season with Motaworld.
