THE county council is close to completing a revolutionary schools computer deal.

Worcestershire County Council, in partnership with Wolverhampton City Council, is in the last stage of agreeing a Private Finance Initiative worth £10 million.

The project will create an online private workspace for every pupil aged 14-19 and deliver additional support, multimedia learning materials and tools which might be needed to support individual learners.

A business plan should be submitted in November, and if it is successful, the scheme will be given final approval by the end of the year.
