THE county's Fostering Team is taking part in this year's national Foster Care Fortnight to highlight an urgent need for more carers in Worcestershire.
Foster carers look after children temporarily unable to live with their own families so the families can sort out problems, ranging from short-term illness to depression or drug and alcohol abuse.
Children may have been abused or neglected.
Social workers work with families to help them resolve problems and make their home a safe place for a child, with the aim of reuniting children with their parents.
Foster Care Fortnight runs until Sunday.
