WORK to transform a former Redditch first school into a community centre should be completed by September.
Redditch Council has spent about £500,000 buying and refurbishing St John Fisher First School, Church Hill, earlier this year.
The former school, in Loxley Close, will be available for hire for community activities but will also provide neighbourhood surgeries with council officers, police and volunteer groups.
A name-the-building competition has now been started by the Church Hill Alliance.
A £50 prize is on offer to anyone with the best name for the new community centre.
Anyone with suggestions can call Bev Houghton on 69580.
