STOKE Prior's Dolly Green celebrated her 102nd birthday on Monday and raised a toast with her favourite drink - a hot cup of tea.
Dolly has survived two world wars, lived though the reign of six British monarchs and was 66-years-old when England won the World Cup back in 1966.
The cheerful pensioner is now a resident at Tutnall Hall Nursing Home, in Tutnall Lane, Bromsgrove, where she is a favourite among staff.
Dolly always lived in Stoke Prior at Sagebury Terrace and later at Orchard Crescent, where she lived independently until she was 98.
The mum-of-three is now a grandmother, a great grandmother and a great great grandmother and most of her large family still live in the rural Bromsgrove parish.
Dolly, whose Christian name is actually Edith, earned a living at the village salt works and at LG Harris and Co, in Hanbury Road.
Her granddaughter Auriol Jones, aged 56, of Orchard Crescent, described her as a very happy soul and says Dolly can remember amazing tales from the past - although she can get muddled sometimes.
"Despite her many years she remains in good health and it wasn't until grandma had a stroke that more support was needed.
"She has always been at the heart of the family and her loved ones were always her first priority."
Auriol said her grandmother was not much of a drinker but she was well known for making wonderful wine that was appreciated by many in her community.
"Gran's favourite drink has to be tea - she can just keep drinking and drinking it," added Auriol.
