I AM writing to protest about the non-existence of hanging baskets along the River Severn in Worcester.
Their absence is all the more inexplicable bearing in mind the council is calling all Worcester householders to enter a competition for the best-kept garden, church, pub and so on.
How can they run such competitions such as this when they don't enhance the beautiful walk along the riverside with hanging baskets?
On a recent restaurant visit, my husband and I thought it would be nice to go for a walk along the riverside towards the Cathedral and back before dinner. We were astonished to find it looking so drab.
Why hasn't the city council provided hanging baskets for the citizens this year?
After all the talk of revitalising Pitchcroft side of the river towards the bridge, and building the huge car park, what has happened to the decoration?
JACKIE HOLLIS, Worcester.
