TEENAGE star Jack Williams is making waves at Alvechurch after knocking an impressive 180 on his debut for the club's third team.
Williams is only 14 and is already being tipped to step up into the second team by first team skipper Nick Jones.
The feelgood factor at the club continued with a win over second placed Belbroughton at the weekend which kept the Birmingham Road club in the hunt for a hoped-for second promotion spot.
Jones has all but conceded the side to a Hereford City side who have opened up a lead at the top of the table.
Alvechurch have also been strengthened by the arrival of four players from the now-defunct Birmingham League side Solihull Municipal.
After introducing two new players in the last two matches, Jones is looking forward to an unchanged lineup for another big match with the visit of high-flying Barnards Green on Saturday (2pm start).
The villagers won the reverse fixture by 15 runs and is expecting another close game.
Darren Reck did the damage on Saturday, taking seven wickets before Church knocked off their target for four thanks to an 80 not out from new signing Matt Hayward.
