FECKENHAM captain Andrew Fletcher was hoping to lift his troops for the Worcestershire County League Knockout final last night (Tuesday) after a shock defeat to basement boys Lye dented their promotion hopes at the weekend.
The Mill Lane side started the day within reach of the top but an unexpected away defeat pushed them down the Worcester Two table.
And the defeat left the captain worrying about the unthinkable prospect of relegation.
But it was a contrasting story in the league knockout as the villagers continued their giantkilling feats.
After disposing of Division One side Droitwich in the quarter final, Feckenham saw off higher division strugglers Astwood Bank in a derby cup tie.
The Bank knocked 113 in the limited overs match and Feckenham knocked them off for two with seven overs to spare.
The Millers played the final at Kidderminster CC last night against another Division One side - Netherton.
And Fletcher was hoping to take the opportunity to put the weekend's performance behind him.
