DROITWICH'S antisocial behaviour problems took centre stage this week during a debate in the Commons.
Spa MP Peter Luff highlighted residents' concerns about antisocial behaviour during the discussion on Monday.
In the debate Mr Luff said: "In Droitwich Spa there are real concerns about antisocial behaviour, it is clear that we cannot categorise the young people who are causing the problem of bad behaviour.
"We must not assume that just because a child is underprivileged, he or she will necessarily be a leading light in antisocial behaviour in a town. That is certainly not my experience in Droitwich."
And the MP urged Home Office minister Hazel Blears to ask local authorities and public bodies to support schemes in the town which help young people such as the adventure playground.
"In Droitwich I recently held a survey on the causes of antisocial behaviour and constituents' responses to it. There was a strong emphasis on the need to provide more facilities for ordinary young people; there is just not enough for them to do in the average British town," he said.
