GREAT Alne went top of Division Five of the Cotswold Hills League at the weekend with a straightforward win over Tanworth in Arden II.
The decision to drop several divisions is paying dividends for Craig Millard's side, who lead the way with an average of 20.50 from their eight matches.
The Henley Road side have won all eight in the opening half of the season and continued their imperious form by beating Tanworth by 168 runs.
The villagers posted an impressive 285 for five before bowling out the opposition for 117.
The villagers are out to complete an unbeaten first half of the season at home to Elmley Castle II on Saturday (2pm start).
