A FAILED relationship and job loss led a man to commit suicide by gassing himself in his car, an inquest has heard.
Worcestershire coroner Victor Round said Dean Wrigglesworth, of Dorset Road, Wollaston, Stourbridge, had not sought medical advice for the depression that he was suffering, which finally led him to kill himself by linking a hose to his car exhaust.
The body of Mr Wrigglesworth, aged 37, was found in his car in Pudford Lane, Martley, on Friday, June 5.
During yesterday's inquest at Worcester's County Hall, the coroner read a statement from the Mr Wrigglesworth's mother, Beth Moberley, who said her son had not been depressed for most of his life, but had seen him becoming increasingly depressed in recent times.
She told the inquest how her son had felt very rejected recently after going through a failed relationship and job loss.
"Mr Wrigglesworth never really spoke to his mother about the problems although she says they did talk," said Mr Round. "The last time he spoke to his mother, she says he sounded as normal."
The coroner returned a verdict that Mr Wrigglesworth had taken his own life through carbon monoxide poisoning.
