WORCESTER Friends of the Earth will be inviting people to make a noise at the Earth Summit 2002 on Saturday.
An event at County Hall will launch an international campaign calling for global rules for big businesses.
Members of the public will be asked to pick one of four sounds representing aspects of the natural world currently under threat from the actions of global corporations.
The noises chosen in Worcester will be delivered to Earth Summit delegates by Friends of the Earth International, together with messages from around the world.
The summit takes place in Johannesburg, South Africa, from Monday, August 26 to Wednesday, September 4. It will be attended by world leaders.
Friends of the Earth is calling for international legislation to regulate big business.
It wants to see an international treaty introduced at the Earth Summit that would call big business to account.
