THE family of a 15-year-old girl who went missing with a divorced man nearly twice her age has breathed a sigh of relief following her return.
Police found Stacey Dixon safe and well at a Kidderminster address almost two weeks after she disappeared.
The Harry Cheshire High School student had left her home in Ash Grove, Kidderminster, and said she was heading off for a school field trip before she was seen getting into family friend Ian "Jimmy" Scott's light green Ford Escort at about 8.45am on Tuesday, June 18.
Her father Paul Dixon had made several emotional pleas for her to get in touch before Stacey was finally located - to the delight of Mr Dixon, her mother and five brothers and sisters - on Monday morning.
Following an anonymous tip-off officers went to a house in Exeter Close at 5.20am, where Stacey was found.
She was taken to Kidderminster Police Station and quizzed over the circumstances of her disappearance.
The family had lived next door to painter and decorator Mr Scott for nine years before moving to Ash Grove but were still in touch and he had frequently gone on holiday with them.
Police had been investigating a number of leads which suggested the pair could be in an array of diverse locations including abroad and Brierley Hill.
As the Shuttle/Times and News went to press a man had been arrested and was helping police with their inquiries into what they are calling Stacey's abduction.
