TENNIS: The men's C team at Stourport are continuing their push for promotion for the second successive season.

Nick Lathe and Andy Southall led the way with two wins over Bewdley as Stourport won 5-2.

Graham Ashmore with Nick Mantle and Gareth Williams with Paul Cooper won one each.

In a recent run of mixed fortunes for the club, the ladies' As continued to struggle with defeats against Stourbridge and Bewdley.

But they have fought valiantly against the county opposition without their captain Hilary Hatt who is still unavailable.

Against Bewdley, there were two victories achieved by Carole Lewis with Sally Smith and Rhian Robinson with Zena Freer.

In the Kidderminster League, the mixed A team enjoyed successes over Blakedown and Cutnall Green but drew with Hagley.

Against Blakedown a 3-1 win was recorded, thanks to Bob Tarpey and Lewis, who won twice, while Derek Tarpey teamed up with his mother Freer for the other triumph.

The team made a clean sweep at Cutnall Green with D Tarpey and Lewis then B Tarpey and Robinson taking their matches.

In a tough match against Hagley, Malcolm Bradley joined Lewis and D Tarpey partnered Robinson for a win each.

The mixed B team has been equally successful with wins over Blakedown (4-0) and Hagley (3-1).

There were victories for Ralph Round with Smith and Roger Houldsworth with Smith.

Hilary Kilby and Lindsay Wilson-Beech have also won some matches.

The men's As were held to a 2-2 draw with Blakedown as Scott Hadley and Tony Westhead triumphed twice.
