ROWING: Bewdley Rowing Club racked up 12 wins at Ironbridge Regatta, including four on the longer 1,000-metre course.
John and Chris Hinton won the veteran B pairs convincingly on Saturday to start the victory charge off.
Their success was followed by an excellent first for Mick Edmunds, Hayden Hughes, Rob Heath and Mike Parker, coxed by Annie O'Connell, in the veteran B fours.
The women's senior 2 four of Sue Lewis, Mel Hinton, Emma Hinton and Jane Holland, coxed by Ruth Brown, won the final event after a day racing against strong opposition.
The day was topped off by a junior 14 single scull win by Lewis Beech.
The shorter 500m course was used on Sunday where Bewdley gained eight more wins.
The Hintons again dominated the veteran B pairs, while Jo Atkinson, Theresa Roberts, Maggie Jameson and Liz Killick, coxed by Lindsey Salmon, took the veteran C fours honours.
Richard Jackson won the junior 15 single sculls as did Beech again in the junior 14 singles.
Jackson and Beech paired up to take the junior 15 double sculls by storm, winning by three lengths.
Dave Merchant raced superbly in the men's senior 2 sculls to win his semi-final easily and fought hard for his one-length final victory over an experienced Warwick sculler.
Jenny Merchant steered a near-perfect course to win the women's junior 15 singles.
But the win of the day went to the women's novice four of Kate Ferguson, Claire and Rachel Henman and Leila Downey, coxed by Kerry Nightingale.
Promising youngsters 11-year-old Luke Barnett, racing above status in junior 13 sculls, and junior 14 Sarah Brooke, in her first competition, raced well and just missed out on success.
The men's novice four of Ben Bevan, Geoff Mills, Pete Thompson and Jason Carpenter raced strongly.
They flew through their heats and semi but were unlucky to be narrowly beaten in the final.
