GOLF: Aspiring golf professional Steven Clarke hopes to gain a place in Daily Telegraph and Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Junior Golf Championships finals.
The 17-year-old shot 74 to win his qualifying round at home club Kidderminster and must now wait until early September.
Clarke will then discover whether he has one of the best gross scores which will earn him a place in the final in late October at Sun City, South Africa.
The Worcestershire U-18s golfer said: "I was happy with my score and there is a chance I could qualify."
Clarke, who works in the shop at Gaudet Luce Golf Club in Hadzor, near Droitwich, is training to be a professional.
He competes in the British Boys Championships at the famous St Andrew's venue in Scotland next month.
