WORK starts on Monday on a Stourport alleyway to make it safer for children travelling to school.
Pupils from St Wulstan's RC Primary School and Lickhill Lodge First School completed questionnaires to highlight any problems walking to and from school.
Trixies Alley emerged as a trouble spot. It is overgrown, poorly surfaced and has no drainage and lighting, and its steps are uneven.
Now a £100,000 upgrade, part of Worcestershire County Council's Safer Routes to School initiative, will transform it.
Pedestrians will not be able to use it until the work is completed in two months.
