PLANNERS have given the thumbs down to a bid by a Stourport window firm to build a new showroom.
A report to Wyre Forest District Council's planning (development control) committee had recommended the bid be approved - but councillors blocked the proposed side extension at Miday Windows, based in Hartlebury Road.
Initial plans had sparked objections from highway officials, who cited insufficient off-street parking and traffic safety fears, and six letters and a 39-signature petition from neighbours.
A revised scheme, which planning officers said was acceptable, also attracted four letters objecting to the expansion.
