A teenager denied setting a car ablaze when he appeared at Worcester Crown Court.
John Webb, 19, of Barnfield Road, Stourport, pleaded not guilty to destroying by fire a Vauxhall Cavalier and perverting the course of justice by making a false complaint of theft to the police.
Judge David McEvoy QC granted him bail and adjourned the case for trial on a date to be fixed.
