EVESHAM College Academy staged its trials for the forthcoming season.

Many players from all around the region attended. The Academy's main aim is to improve players so they can go on and play football at semi professional level.

The Academy had many links with clubs at this level and placed several players in clubs over the last few years.

The course is now run alongside a new qualification BTEC National Certificate in Sport, recently described in national press at the Beckham A levels.

Geoff Samuels, a coach at the Birmingham City Centre of Excellence and also at the Davies Road Academy, is keen for more local players to get involved as he feels there is a lot of local talent, which is not reaching its full potential at the moment.

He sees the Academy as being an opportunity for players to train with a professional coach for the first time or a second cha-nce for late developers.

Anyone interested should call Lee Perry on 01386 712655.
