A POPULAR pub landlady known for her gentle manner has died.
Peggy Guise, who ran the Mare and Colt pub, Kidderminster, with husband Charles for 28 years, died from a heart attack, aged 84.
Mrs Guise, of Sebright Road, Wolverley, was a popular figure in the pub and village, said son Pip.
He added: "She had a nice life and made a lot of friends.
"She somewhat lived in the shadow of my father while he was alive but became very independent after his death.
"She was still whizzing around in her Fiat 500 car until the end."
Mrs Guise is survived by two sons, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral was due to be held at St Ambrose Church, Kidderminster, yesterday.
